The Path of EVE Online
Before reading this document, you should have already read The Path of Bellum Aeternus.
Expectations
We have fairly high expectations for the maturity of our players. As such, we don't want there to be any question about what is acceptable behavior. All rules will be enforced in a "Tough, but fair" manner. If you play straight with us, we will be more than willing to give you a second chance.
We expect the fun to come out of the camaraderie of our players and the success of our tactics. As a mature group, we treat everyone -- ally and enemy alike -- with the highest respect both in game and out.
Voice Communication
This includes Teamspeak, Ventrilo and in-game Vivox. Depending on our current Alliance's preference, we may use either of these programs.
We've found that coordinating attacks and accomplishing missions is best served by using voice communication. Even if you are shy or don't have a microphone, it is required that you download and install Voice Communication programs so that you may at least listen to and hear the commands while in gang. The lack of listen-capability can jeopardize your safety and that of the gang in fleet operations. Make Voice Communication a priority and it is fun - we promise.
Voice Communication is required for Fleet Operations.
Language Policy
We want everyone to be comfortable here, and if foul language is making anyone uneasy... it doesn't belong. An occasional blurt out is tolerated but anything derogatory, racist or sexist is prohibited. This is especially important when a derogatory comment is directed at another person; enemy or friend.
Recruitment
Candidates
Bellum Aeternus is dedicated to achieving that “next level” of game-play through superior organization and tactics. BA: EVE is looking for quality players that wish to partake in a structured, team-oriented environment. We look for various traits such as: maturity, quality, respect, reputation, ability to handle group dynamics, willingness to learn, and fit with the "BA Way." We are not a casual corporation nor do we consider ourselves an elite hardcore corp. Bellum Aeternus is a goal-oriented corporation that uses tactics, advanced team play, dedication and a friendly atmosphere to achieve more.
If you seek that style of game play and agree with The Path of Bellum Aeternus & The Path of EVE, you may be right for us. There are four processes than can lead to an invite into the guild.

Corporate Structure
There are 8 In-game Titles for the EVE Corporation. We use these Titles to manage our players as well as confer Rank in game. We have roles and responsibilities for each of these Ranks.
Proletarius: Recruit
When you are first invited, you will be this rank. Within a week of joining Bellum Aeternus you must visit and register on the forums, request access, and sign the Pledge for EVE. You must get our Voice Communication program up and running. Failure to complete either of these tasks may result in expulsion from the corporation. Members can inform officers/leaders of issues and/or concerns via private conversation or EVE-Mail.
Tiro: Junior Member
The Tiro rank is conferred on those who have completed the steps detailed above. At this stage the member is still considered “probationary” and has not yet demonstrated to leadership that they are to be trusted. This is not an insult to the new recruit but is how the corporation protects itself from spies and thieves. Do right by the corp, our ideals and our spirit, and you won’t hold this title for long.
Legionnaire: Member
The Legionnaire rank is where most of our membership resides and it is a position of trust. As a corporation we value initiative and ask that members wishing to advance to Legionnaire submit a request for consideration to the personnel staff. The request form can be located here on our website.
Legionnaires are granted access to corporate assets contained within our offices. These access rights extend to the Low/Mid and High slot hangars as well as the drone and ammunition bays. This is to make kitting out your ships as easy as possible but please be considerate of your fellow corp-mates. Members are encouraged to grab ammunition and drones free of charge with the understanding that if they grab the last item, they will notify the production director to let him or her know.
Centurion: Fleet Command Officer
Centurions are entrusted with the command and control of Bellum Aeternus Fleets. When combat is underway or imminent, the centurion’s authority within a fleet gang is absolute. Participants in gangs are required to follow any and all orders issued to the letter. Any critiques or suggestions are to be held until an after-action report is being prepared.
Armicustos: Logistics Command Officer
The Armicustos rank is dedicated to those individuals who have demonstrated the extreme organizational skills and desire required to be production gurus. These dedicated individuals provide the corporation with ships, ammunition and many of the modules we use everyday. The Armicustos is also responsible for POS management as well as the organization of ore and ice mining operations.
Officialis: Diplomatic Officer
The individuals who hold this title are responsible for communicating with other corporations and alliances in an official capacity. Our Officii also conduct recruitment interviews and serve as recruiters themselves.
Tribunus: Director
The Tribunus assist in managing the wide-ranging departments and concerns of the corporation. These individuals serve a primarily administrative role and put a lot of time and effort into keeping things running smoothly. The Tribunus rank is conferred on those that have accepted leadership responsibilities on par with the CEO.
Governor: CEO
The Chief Executor Officer of the corporation carries the title of Governor on the BA:Eve forums. The CEO operates in council with the corporate directors.
Corporate Policies
Gang Etiquette
Who can lead gangs?
Combat/Fleet Engagement:
Centurions serve as our fleet commanders and as such hold sway during combat operations. Centurions are encouraged to allow other members to command gangs in low intensity operations so as to grow our ranks with competent commanders. In this way our Centurions serve as teachers and instructors to those who wish to advance their fleet command knowledge and possibly become a Centurion themselves.
Official BA raiding parties should be run with a Centurion/Officer as gang leader. If none is available, a Legionnaire may receive a battlefield promotion, but must step down and pass lead to an Officer/Centurion if one becomes available and joins the gang.
Equipment/Loot Policy
PvP Engagements
One of the great things about being victorious on the battlefield is access to the spoils. When enemy ships are destroyed the can they drop may contain many of the valuable modules they were using against you just moments before. In fleet and group engagements we are faced with the fair distribution of these spoils. The corporation asks that those involved be fair and clear concerning how splits will be made – this is not something we will introduce policy on at this time but please bear in mind our mission statement and values.
NPC Engagements
The corporation asks that mission runners donate unnamed modules to the corporate hangars so that they can be reprocessed back into minerals, for use by the corporation. This is one way the corporation finances our free drone and ammo program, which is accessible to all members. Additionally, the level of participation in this program directly influences the cost of internal ship builds for corporation members as we can subsidize the build costs greatly.
Corporation Hangars
The Corp Hangars exist to allow our players to help one another out. If you collect modules or alloys from pirates or on missions you can place them into the corporate hangars for your fellow members to utilize.
Basic Guidelines
- Please take only what you need.
- Please donate your excess unnamed modules to the corporate hangars.
- Members are encouraged to withdraw Ammunition and Drones from the hangars to support combat operations.
- Please feel free to use the module hangars to help in fitting your ships but remain aware of the community nature of these assets. If you take out, please pay in.
Production
In-house production is possibly one of the greatest benefits that Bellum Aeternus can provide to a member. Our system for production provides our dedicated Armicustos officers with access to the corporately held minerals and assets in order to build ships, drones, ammunition and modules for members at a reduced cost.
How do I benefit from this?
Simple. Post a build request on the forums under the Ship Production Queue and one of our Armicustos officers will process the request. You will be contacted and quoted a build price depending on the ship package you are requesting.
Please remember that the corporation attempts to subsidize our internal build costs as much as possible through corp-sponsored mining operations as well as the module donation program. Ships built for in-house use should not be re-sold outside the corporation.
Advancement Opportunities
Advanced Officer Training (AOT)
As illustrated before we maintain three separate leadership ‘spheres’, each tasked with handling logistics, production, combat gangs, fleet warfare, diplomatic affairs, and recruitment. Each officer branch has a Lead (Primus Pila) who is designated from within each ‘sphere’ by the Governor and Tribunus. The Primus Pila is responsible for reviewing applications once submitted to the AOT program.
The initial accept or decline decision is made by the Primus Pila and is to be based on the individual’s track record within the corporation. Illustrating a reasoned manner and desire as well as exceptional capability towards the chosen sphere will stand as the first of many required conditions before an AOT aspirant can move forward.
Upon initial acceptance the Primus Pila will notify the aspirant and submit the name to the Governor and Tribunus for review. The Governor and Tribunus will then determine if the corporation is in need of additional officers within the aspirant’s chosen ‘sphere.’ If no slots are available the application will be declined and the aspirant will be notified immediately. The aspirant is encouraged to keep in mind that we have a commitment to building a strong and cohesive officer corps and must remain within limits. Having too many cooks in the kitchen is dangerous.
AOT – Application Acceptance
Following the acceptance of an application, the aspirant will enter into a period of review lasting approximately 30 days. During this period the aspirant will be tasked with all of the responsibilities of a full rank officer within their chosen branch. The aspirant will not be granted any additional access roles during AOT. This is intended to promote teamwork between the potential and established officers as well as to limit the corporation’s liability.
Over the course of the period of review the officer corps as well as the leadership group will monitor the aspirant’s progress. Guidance will be offered freely and we encourage applicants to utilize this resource where appropriate. While we value self-motivated individuals it is also very important to know when to ask for assistance. The aspirant is also expected to start a thread within the AOT forum and provide a brief description of their qualifications. This thread will also serve as a place for the aspirant to post questions and receive feedback during the AOT process.
AOT – Period of Review Completion
At the conclusion of the period of review the Primus Pila for the aspirant’s chosen ‘sphere’ will recommend to the Governor and Tribunus that the application be accepted, dismissed, or deferred for further review. After consideration of the aspirant’s track record, as well as the Primus Pila’s recommendation, the Governor and Tribunus will accept, dismiss or defer the application.
Acceptance– The aspirant is notified that the period of review is complete and that the Officers and Leaders of Bellum Aeternus acknowledge the sacrifice and dedication shown. The Governor and Tribuni will then submit the aspirant’s name and achievements to the corporation for approval. The Legionnaires will signify their approval with a vote of confidence. Once an aspirant has received five (5) such accolades he will be admitted to the chosen officer ‘sphere.’
Deferral – This action is used in an effort to further evaluate a potential officer in the event that an Accept or Decline vote is not conclusive. We reserve the right to defer the completion of the period of review for an addition fourteen (14) days or two weeks.
Dismissal– This action will take place in a number of situations. If the aspirant is unable or unwilling to continue carrying out the responsibilities of their chosen ‘sphere’ the application will be dismissed. In the event that the aspirant takes a leave from EVE during the period of review that is greater than one (1) week the application will be dismissed.
AOT is not an adversarial process. Anyone that is dismissed from the program will remain at the Legionnaire rank and may resubmit to AOT after one month from their dismissal date with a clean slate. This process is structured to allow members the ability to test themselves and to function within the officer ranks. In doing so we anticipate that all aspirants will gain a higher appreciation for the work that the officer and leadership groups do on the corporation’s behalf.
